Nunzia Carbone is an Italian designer and architect based in Shanghai and Venice.
She has worked in New York City, in South East Asia and since 2001 she is the principal and founder DEDODESIGN Architects.
Her work encompasses all fields of design, ranging from urban scale through to products, interiors and furniture. Central to her concerns is a simultaneous engagement in practice and creative research. She is passionate about innovation, technology and ecology.
All her projects have a sustainable and multi-disciplinary mission.
In 2013 she initiated a research base project called Ediblecities as a response to the food and environmental challenges posed by the unprecedented scale of urbanization process.
Carbone has more than twenty-five years of experience in design and management with special emphasis on projects with complex programmatic requirements.
In 2016 her work was showcased at the International exhibition, “21st Century Design after Design”, in Milan at the Triennale Museum.
Nunzia’s projects are published in magazines and monographs, including Domus International, Dwell, Interni, Elle Decoration, Case da Abitare and Global Times. The New York Times has described her design for the CELLULA LIGHT as “a modern classic.”
